'Little Adam's' House

Little Adam was harbourmaster in Craster in the 1930's/1940's he died some time in the40's. A character in the village; his house is opposite Coquet View. During the summer he lived in the harbour master's hut on the landward end of the north pier; this can be seen in the page's heading photograph, with the tractor parked outside.
He also owned a charabanc, a bus, called the 'Ocean Maid', which he kept in a garage to the north of the house. He took trips to Alnwick and to other local destinations.
The following photograph shows the house, the double fronted building on the right, at some time in the early 1900's. There is a sign above the front door advertising a business, but the text is illegible. The boats in the picture probably belonged to fishermen living in Church Street and were brought up Haven Hill to be stored at the end of the street.
